Mentoring of Baby Friendly Couples in NTB Golden Generation Program (GEN)

Abstract

Based on National Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) 2022, prevalence of Stunting in Indonesia was 21,6 %. Province West of Nusa Tenggara (NTB) with 32,7 % (2022) is one of the highest four of stunting prevalence, and increase than year 2021’s prevalence, was 31,4 %. Some activities and programes has been done, one of them is NTB Golden Generation Program or GEN, that focus on improving children's growth and development through family empowerment. Family empowerment is carried out through mentoring by home visits and through study groups or mother's classes, with the aim of forming Child Friendly Couples or PARANA. This research aims to determine the process of PARANA mentoring carried out and the amount of coverage that is included in the "Child Friendly" category. This research is descriptive research by analyzing data from PARANA certification results in 2022 and 2023. For the PARANA mentoring process, secondary data from the GEN program report is used. The results of the research show that mentoring of the Child Friendly Couple (PARANA) process for the GEN program targets in 10 districts throughout NTB is running intensively with trained human resources, availability of curriculum, media/educational aids, sufficient funding, and maximum target attendance. . The percentage of couples who meet the requirements for Child Friendly Couples (PARANA) in the GEN program targets in 10 districts throughout NTB is 67.3%.
