ANALYSIS OF TRAINING PARTICIPANT INVOLVEMENT DIMENSIONS AND DEMOGRAPHIC FACTORS IN ONLINE LEARNING IN BPSDMD NTB
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the dimensions of the involvement of trainees and demographic factors in online learning at the Regional Human Resources Development Agency for the Province of West Nusa Tenggara. The method used in this research is experimental with a quantitative approach. The research subjects were 43 training participants in West Nusa Tenggara in 2023 (Training for Making Business Process Maps = 37.2%, Basic Training for Prospective Civil Servants for Bima Regency = 20.9%, Civil Servant Candidates for North Lombok Regency = 16.3% , and Latsar CPNS Central Lombok district = 25.6%), using a stratified random sampling method. The instrument used was the Online training participant engagement (TPE) totaling ten items. The analysis technique used is descriptive analysis with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality. The results of this study indicate that the training participants at the Regional Human Resource Development Board of the Province of West Nusa Tenggara have different levels of involvement in each dimension. Female trainees have higher involvement in technology, instructional design, and social interaction, while male trainees have higher involvement in the quality of training materials. This shows that the factors that influence participant involvement can be influenced by gender. Training participants in the age range of 22-30 years had the highest engagement, followed by participants aged 31-40 years, while participants aged 41-50 years had a lower level of involvement. Differences in engagement by gender and age point to the importance of paying attention to demographic characteristics in designing effective online learning strategies. Integration of collaborative features in online learning systems can increase participant engagement. The conclusions of this study emphasize the importance of presenters who master online learning methods and make good use of technology, as well as good interaction between participants and presenters, clear objectives, and the relevance of training materials in increasing participant engagement and learning outcomes. Therefore, it can be concluded that the involvement of online participants in the Human Resource Development Agency is very good.
