Community of Practices sebagai Forum Pengembangan Kompetensi Widyaiswara di Era Digital

Abstract

Competency development is an effort to increase the professionalism of Widyaiswara, as an important element in the field of education and training, especially for the State Civil Apparatus. This can be obtained from a variety of integrated learning, information, knowledge and experience sources. This paper focuses on developing competencies with a non-classical training pathway, namely Community of Practices (CoP), as a learning community through virtual media in various forms. This research is qualitative by exploring and describing references related to CoP, and based on the observations of researchers as part of the virtual community. The results show that CoP is able to become a knowledge sharing forum in open knowledge management, the high enthusiasm of community members in the transfer and transformation of knowledge, and effectively connecting all Widyaiswara from various regions in Indonesia. This is in accordance with the development of Industrial Era 4.0 with the character of the industry is digitalization, and the character of learning is collaboration. By the development of information technology and collaborative learning, the CoP that has been formed can become a strategic forum in the development of Widyaiswara's competence in the Digital Age.
